Yorkville Apartment Renovation

This Yorkville Manhattan renovation focused on transforming an outdated kitchen into a refined, contemporary space that integrates seamlessly with the rest of the apartment. The original kitchen featured glossy white cabinetry and tiled flooring that visually separated it from the living areas. Our objective was to modernize the space with elevated materials, introduce warmth through natural wood tones, and create continuity by extending new hardwood flooring throughout.
At the core of the kitchen redesign is Calacatta Versailles Quartz from MSI, used for both the countertops and full-height backsplash. The soft veining adds subtle movement while maintaining a bright, timeless aesthetic. Extending the quartz vertically creates a clean, uninterrupted surface that enhances both durability and visual cohesion.
The cabinetry was reimagined in a balanced two-tone composition. Carbone Matte upper cabinets and molding provide a sleek, contemporary contrast, while Como Ash natural wood lower cabinets introduce warmth and organic texture. This interplay between matte gray and natural wood grounds the galley layout and prevents the space from feeling overly stark. Elongated 6–12 inch satin nickel cabinet pulls reinforce the kitchen’s clean lines and coordinate with the stainless steel appliances and faucet. Integrated under-cabinet lighting highlights the quartz backsplash, and a large flush ceiling fixture adds ambient warmth to soften the modern finishes.
To complete the transformation, we removed the existing tile flooring and installed white oak wood flooring from Mirage, extending it through the kitchen and into the apartment. This continuous flooring enhances flow, eliminates visual breaks, and ties the entire interior together.
The result is a cohesive, modern kitchen defined by elevated materials, balanced contrasts, and seamless integration with the home’s newly installed hardwood flooring.
As a first time homeowner, I hired SRNY to do a complete kitchen renovation, replace flooring, remove bathroom wallpaper, & create a linen closet. I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. From the get-go, I worked closely with Eli, the owner, & Crystal, the project coordinator. Both remained in constant communication with me from start to finish. They were diligent, detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to creating a product with which I would be happy. They were consummate professionals running a client-centric business. First, the most important thing to me was establishing a time frame. Eli was upfront and realistic with his time frame, and when hiccups occurred he would constantly reassess with me when he expected the project to be complete. In the end, the project finished as scheduled even with holiday interruptions and unexpected changes. When it came to the design of the kitchen, I had a general idea of what I wanted but both Eli & Crystal really hit it out of the park with helping me to design a beautiful, modern and functional kitchen. I had my doubts about transforming an idea on paper into reality, but the final outcome exceeded my expectations. No project is without unexpected hiccups or obstacles, as was mine when we discovered the lack of a subfloor or that some of my kitchen fixtures didn't fit appropriately. Even with hiccups, Eli was in constant communication and helped me to craft a realistic and optimal solution. Lastly, throughout the project, when I had concerns or was not satisfied with certain things, Eli & team were quick to address them (i.e. calling me immediately after I sent a text or email) to quickly address these issues. He gave me honest, fair judgements, and I never felt that he or his team didn't have my best interest at heart. In summary, "star" work from Star Renovations!
