Greene Ave Townhouse Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation

Welcome to this stunning BedStuy Townhouse Beauty! This full-scope renovation transformed the ground-floor kitchen and bathroom of a multi-family townhouse in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The updates breathe new life into the interiors and reimagine how the home connects to its outdoor space. A Kitchen That Opens Up to the Light What was once a cramped and shadowed kitchen is now an expanded, light-filled gathering space. By removing walls and reconfiguring the layout, we created room for a larger island and added ceiling-height sage green cabinetry with a clean, Shaker profile. This choice brings in a fresh sense of calm and mirrors the greenery found just beyond the new rear door. The upper cabinets feature glass inserts and integrated wine storage, giving the dry bar space both function and personality. Soft brass hardware and vintage-inspired pendant lights tie everything together, bringing warmth and cohesion. The island now serves as the centerpiece of the space, offering plenty of prep surface and seating. Look closely and you’ll notice how the muted pink of the island base subtly connects to the tilework in the nearby bathroom. A Townhouse Bathroom Reimagined: From Tub to Tranquility We traded a tired tub setup for a stunning walk-in shower that combines modern layout with a boutique, spa-like finish. Mauve-toned square tiles bring unexpected vibrancy to the walls, while brushed brass fixtures add an elevated contrast. A compact vanity with warm wood tones and slim profile completes the look. The combination of textures—from the matte tile to the terrazzo floor—makes the space feel both layered and serene. The vertical grid of blush tiles visually elongates the space, and the frameless glass panel keeps the layout open. Details like the recessed shower niche and slimline faucet elevate the bathroom’s functionality and style. Creating Flow: New Deck and Outdoor Access One of the biggest transformations in this townhouse project was the addition of a rear steel deck and staircase. Previously, this unit had no direct access to the backyard—just a small window. We removed that window and installed a glass-paneled door, seamlessly linking the new kitchen to the outdoor space. This connection between inside and out brings new purpose to both areas, creating an ideal setup for morning coffee, summer dinners, and weekend lounging. Even small outdoor spaces can become highly functional. Here, the black steel stair and railing feel grounded and modern.

Project Client Testimonial:

“My wife and I recently completed a renovation of our co-op apartment in NYC with Star Renovations NY, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Navigating a co-op renovation in the city can be overwhelming, but Eli and his team made the process incredibly smooth and stress-free. Eli, our project manager, was professional, proactive, and always available to answer our questions. His knowledge of co-op board requirements and building management protocols was invaluable — the approval process, which we were initially nervous about, went through without a hitch thanks to his thorough planning and communication. If you're renovating a co-op in NYC, Star Renovations NY is the team you want on your side. Their experience, professionalism, and attention to detail truly set them apart.”
